1. Business Context and Market Need

In modern infrastructure, industrial, and public utility facilities, integrated security management centers are increasingly being used, where CCTV, access control, IAS, and FAS systems operate within a single, unified Genetec Security Center operational environment.

Polon-Alfa Fire Alarm Systems are widely used in installations with elevated security requirements. However, the lack of native, deep integration with SMS-class platforms necessitated handling fire events outside the main security management system.

2. Project Objective

The project's objective was to develop a dedicated integration enabling the full inclusion of Polon-Alfa FAS systems into the Genetec Security Center platform, in a secure, scalable manner, consistent with the architecture of systems used in large and distributed installations.

3. Functional Scope of the Solution

The developed solution – POLON Integrator – is a proprietary plugin for Genetec Security Center and includes:

• import of FAS system configuration into the Genetec environment,
• visualization of control panels, devices, and detection zones,
• real-time handling of fire and technical events,
• correlation of alarms with video footage,
• searching historical events along with recordings,
• dynamic signaling of system statuses,
• high availability and control panel failover mechanisms.

4. Architecture and Technical Approach

The integration was designed modularly, allowing for further functional expansion and operation in federated and multi-server environments. The solution aligns with the strategy of building an integration layer enabling the aggregation of security data into a single logical system.

The solution enabled operators to manage fire alarms and video events from a single interface, shortened event response times, and simplified the architecture of security systems. For integrators and investors, this integration offers a ready-made product that reduces implementation and maintenance costs.
